Physical principle:

Non-contact basis weight measurement by beta-absorption using different radiometric isotopes.

Application range:

By using different isotopes the suitable measuring range can be selected. Material independent, high-precision basis weight measurement.

Pm147 for measurements up to 120 g/m2

Kr-85 for measurements up to 1200 g/m2

Sr90 for measurements up to 4500 g/m2

The sensors require a sensor arrangement on both sides.
